These are lovely kindle cases available in a range of prints. These are oversized to fit a number of different kindles and eReaders and can also hold devices with hard cases attached. My Kindle in pictures is a 2021 paperwhite. 
These have firm but thin padding to keep some structure and protection for your kindle while taking up minimal room in your bag.

These of course can also be used for a number of different items. I keep my kindle and little notebook and pen in mine.
